HIT MORE GREENS & BURN MORE CALORIES

Reduce Your Score By NOT Aiming At The Flag As Often

Even the pros aim away from the flag and toward the flatter middle of the green when they have anything longer than a pitching wedge shot.

Every player has a certain distance at which they become highly accurate.

For single-digit handicappers, that’s often about 100-115 yards and for those with 15 handicaps, it’s generally 60-70 yards.

If you’re that close, take dead aim. If not, aim to the middle of the putting surface—you’ll putt more, and chip less.

Walking Burns Twice The Calories Of Riding In A Cart

Now that spring is here, golf can help you lose those few extra pounds put on during the winter – and walking and carrying your clubs burns 350 calories an hour, according to NurtiStrategy.

Of course, not everyone can carry their bag, so how does pulling a trolley and riding in cart compare?

You’ll burn 318 calories hourly pulling a hand-cart. Not bad trade-off, just 32 calories compared to slinging a bag over your shoulder, and save yourself from a backache. (More than half of players who say they regularly carry their clubs also admit their back hurts after the round.)

Riding in cart consumes 222 calories hourly. Walk between shots while your riding partner drives and you can approach 300 calories every 60 minutes—not too shabby!

Walking (the course), jogging, swimming or almost any other activity two times a week for 20 minutes can help strengthen one’s “smooth” (cardiac muscle) muscle. SO LET’S GET OUT THERE AND PLAY GOLF!
