One of the things I really look forward every year are textile shows. They are held all over the world, as well as in New York and California. In past years, I have gone to the California Textile show after starting my womens golf clothing line which has really provided education and inspiration for my designs.
This year, I’m getting out of my comfort zone and attending the TexWorld Textile Show in NYC (Jan. 19-21). I’m so excited since this is supposed to be the motherload of all textile shows. I’m looking forward to seeing what the trend forecasting says about color, styles, fabrics, etc. Since the Going Green movement is gaining momentum, I’m hoping to find some really good fabrics with sustainability but still contain the properties I need for my women’s golf apparel.
Not only does the textile show have fabrics, but they also have any and all trims and accessories related to the production of any article of clothing. This is like being a kid in a candy store!
It’s a ton of walking and your mind goes on overload with everything to take in, but it’s a wonderful experience to spark your creativity.
