So I’m at California Pizza Kitchen in the Vegas airport and I spotted a female Army Airborne personnel. If you’ve ever heard my story, and most likely you haven’t, one of the big things that came out of my Guillian Barre Syndrome is that we all have self-limiting beliefs. So where am I going with this? Well, it dawns on me that this Army woman has pushed herself beyond what she probably ever thought she was capable of. We don’t know her story, but she’s putting herself out there each and every day. Doing something completely outside of anyone else’s comfort zone.
I asked her where she was off to, and she indicated she was going back to Fort Knox – home – to see her babies and her dad before he is deployed to Afghanistan. I told her that her family’s effort was appreciated and she said she hadn’t done anything. It takes a whole bunch of puzzle pieces to make it work and she is one piece doing her part on daily basis.
