DOZENS OF BANGLADESH GARMENT WORKERS DIE IN FACTORY FIRE

Dozens of garment workers making shirts for major multinational retailers died this week when a fire broke out in a 10-story factory building in Bangladesh.

It was reported by the Associated Press many were trapped by a locked stairwell.  Dozens jumped to save themselves and were seriously injured. Violent protests over working conditions preceded the catastrophe.
